Classical music was kind of the second mother tongue in our house. If you wanted to have a say, you spoke it. As natural as that always felt, I guess the fact that when I was choosing an instrument at the age of 4, I was mainly interested in getting a bigger instrument than my older sister (violin). My story with the cello is not particularly romantic - practicing was a daily struggle. However, it has always made sense to me to be consistent in what I choose to do and make the most of it.

What I've been burning for since I can remember is stories. The library was my favorite place for a long time. So many treasures to draw from and so many worlds to visit.

Growing up without a television, the movie world didn't open up to me until much later. I felt similarly and wanted to become a film actress. Not to be the center of attention, but to be part of one of these stories.

So when I dared to the visiting day of the European Film Actor School at the age of 17, I was much too shy and inhibited to laugh and scream out loud or crawl across the floor like a wild, crazy animal. I just wanted to go home.

The following week I was accepted with my cello at the Zurich University of the Arts. I could rely on my cello and I was so grateful for this.

I finished my Master of Performance five years later with top grades. I was so busy trying to do everything right that I completely forgot to feel anything. Unsure if I had arrived at the right job or anywhere at all, I went on an around-the-world trip. The moment when I saw a man in Cape Town playing street music with his two-string cello at the harbor and smiling toothlessly all over his face deeply touched me.

Intensive years followed. I traveled a lot and played concerts in South America, Asia, from Mexico to Hawaii and in Europe. I was happy to perform at legendary venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Beijing Concert Hall; equally valuable to me were experiences such as spontaneous improvisation with a bar pianist after a very exhausting performance of Prokofiev's Sinfonia concertante, as well as the numerous musical encounters with street musicians and jam sessions in jazz clubs in New York.

I had stopped thinking about acting until 2018, when I came across a casting call looking for a cellist. That's how I ended up with my first lead role, my first original composition, and the decision to go back to the visiting day at the European Film Actor School, just to experience what it would feel like 13 years later and with a little more life experience. I received my film acting diploma at the end of September 2020.

In 2019, I also deepened in "the method" at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York, learning everything from ‘Improvisation’ to ‘Stage combat’, in addition to 'Acting on Camera'.

During the pandemic, I additionally completed the voice acting training at the Speech Academy Switzerland. Fascinated and grateful that this opens up another professional field for which I can hardly hold back my enthusiasm.

These free, artistic possibilities make me happy and grateful and I look forward to inventing a story with you or supporting you in telling your story. In whatever way.
